Spread Knowledge, Not Germs |
In order to prevent the spread of illness at school, we ask that parents observe the following guidelines when your child is sick: |
| |
1. Notify the School Nurse: |
If your child becomes ill with any potentially contagious illness please notify the school nurse as soon as possible so that we may be alert for other students that may have been exposed to this illness. |
| |
2. Fever: |
If your child has a temperature over 100.0, please keep them at home until they are fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medication. |
| |
3. Doctor: |
If your child goes to the Doctor, be sure to get an excuse note and ask when he/she may return to school. Ask the Doctor to include any activity restrictions (such as P.E. or recess), precautions or medications needed at school. |
| |
4. Antibiotics: |
If your child is given an antibiotic for any possibly contagious infection, such as Pink Eye or Strep Throat, please keep them at home for at least the first 24 hours and until they are fever-free and feeling better. |
| |
5. Questions: |
If you have questions about when your child should return to school after an illness, feel free to call the school nurse. |
