In your room, there is a teacher desktop. This should be a unit which is a “small form factor” so that it takes up as little space as we can manage. Many units are all-in-one units so that access to the disk drive (if there is one), the CD, and other items usually in a separate box are contained in housing with the monitor.
There are units for student use. Some of these are out in the room. Some are laptops stored on carts. You may have some set up and available for use by students when taking Accelerated Reader tests.
You should know how to log in yourself and your students.
You should not allow a student to use your account. You are responsible for anything that happens while the computer is connected through your account.
Each classroom has a projector. Most are mounted on the ceiling. They may be connected to a VCR or external DVD player, but most computers connected to the projectors contain DVD players. Multimedia computers are equipped with DVD players and have the same software loaded on them as the teacher desktop (except those programs provided exclusively for teacher use, e.g. Grade Speed). |
