GradeSpeed.net

GradeSpeed.net is available to you from any computer that has an internet connection. On the district home page or any campus home page, find the black horizontal menu bar. From the black menu bar, under "Staff", select "Teacher Access to GradeSpeed" in that dropdown menu.
General
GradeSpeed.net is built around a campus-wide database. You do not need to enter your own class rosters – in fact, you can't even if you want to. After your final grades for the cycle have been entered, you simply exit GradeSpeed.Net. Your grades are in the campus-wide database ready for report cards to be printed.

Throughout the grading period, each time you exit the program, your current grades will be uploaded to the campus-wide database.

When a student is dropped from your class, his or her name will be marked on your class rosters with a “D” for dropped and grade entries for them will not be uploaded to the database. The data for that student will drop to the bottom of the roster.
Changing Six Weeks
To change to a new grading cycle, you enter the new grading cycle at the Log-in screen. You will get a fresh grade keeping screen that will include final grades from grading cycles already ended. These will be downloaded throughout the year to your grade-keeping screen at the end of each grading period. You will always have available to you the cumulative averages of each of your students.

Grouping Classes
Classes that use the same categories and weights and to which you usually give the same assignments may be grouped together. As an example, if you teach freshman English each day, and use the same lesson plan for all your freshman English classes, and generally give them the same assignments, you can enter the assignment name one time and it will be entered for all in the group. Once this automatic entry has occurred, the assignment can be altered for any single class without affecting the others.
Dropping Grades
The option to drop the lowest grade for each grading period is available. This function is performed at the end of the current grading period.

Before dropping grades you should consider:

What are the total number of grades I want to drop?
What categories do I want searched for this purpose?
How many of the total can come from each category searched?

Dropped grades are identified with a line through the grade.

You may also choose to allow the program to search selected categories and drop the lowest grade found. Teachers who work with percentages can ask the program to be more selective and drop the grade(s) within the categories searched that hurt the student the most. A low grade in one of the categories searched may be passed over in favor of a higher grade (lowest in another eligible category) with greater weight. This is called the Student's Advantage option. The Student’s Advantage option is available only if the teacher uses the percentage base grading option as most teachers choose to do.

For example, if the Student’s Advantage option is selected, GradeSpeed.Net would pass over a 21 in a category weighted at 10% to go for a 25 in an eligible category weighted at 15% if doing so would result in a better grade.
