| Below are a few questions you, or your child, might have about STUCO. If after reading them you still have questions about the after school program, please feel free to contact Mrs. Heather Jost or Miss Allison Harley, RES Student Council sponsors. |
| What is STUCO? |
Student Council (STUCO) is an after school program that promotes leadership, citizenship and school spirit. Participation in STUCO helps students develop speaking, listening, reading, writing and organizational skills, which we believe are life-long skills. |
| Who can be in STUCO? |
Student Council is open to all 4th and 5th graders. All officers are current 5th graders, who are selected at the end of their 4th grade year. |
| How are students elected? |
STUCO Classroom Representatives are voted on by secret ballot in their classroom. Two students will be chosen in every 4th and 5th grade classroom. Officers are voted on in the Spring by the current 4th grade class and they will take office the following year as 5th graders. |
| What kinds of activities does STUCO do? |
Along with singing silly songs and participating in the Randolph High School Homecoming Parade every year, STUCO is involved in many activities that benefit RES, the community and also our military troops. We collect canned and boxed goods for the San Antonio Food Bank, in the Spring, we hold a penny race and collect money that benefits the children fighting against blood cancers, and we have raised money to help supply soldiers returning from Iraq with pillows and blankets. If you have ideas of new fundraisers the RES STUCO could participate in, please email one of the STUCO sponsors and they would be happy to discuss the fundraiser with you.
