Dear Randolph Ro-Hawk Alumni,
I hope this correspondence finds you doing well. Randolph Field ISD has enjoyed a tradition of excellence for many decades. A huge part of our success is because we have the opportunity to educate the best and brightest. Our families understand that success breeds success. Their dedication to their personal lives and our country deserves the utmost attention and respect.
Although we have experienced great success, we have done so in facilities that are sub-par for our students and staff. Randolph Field ISD is currently pursuing a new facilities initiative that consists of a new high school, new cafeteria and stage, and new gymnasium. We have utilized needs assessments and a facilities committee to drive our long range facilities plan. The committee recognized that the current high school, constructed in 1962, is beyond its life expectancy. Additionally, our student population has outgrown the two core space areas in the cafeteria and gymnasium.
Many of our alumni go on to do great things after they leave Randolph Field ISD. Our district is unique in that we have no bonding capacity for facility funding since we sit solely on federal property. The only bond we have is the bond with our alumni, which we cherish. We are reaching out to Ro-Hawk alumni across the world with the hopes that you are able and willing to help our students, and future alumni, realize the dream of attending school in a new 21st century educational facility. The district has been diligent in saving funds, seeking assistance through grants, and getting the project as cost effective as possible. Our current building program consists of approximately 77,000 sq. ft. With site work and construction program costs, the price tag for this project is $14.5 million, of which the district is able to afford $13.5 million through the funding methods mentioned above.
We are seeking building fund donations in any amount so we can move forward with this project. Any Ro-Hawk alumni that is interested in helping may go to the RFISD district website at www.rfisd.net to learn how to donate. There are several levels of donations available. We will hang a commemorative plaque on the front of the building with the givers name for any donations made at the Diamond, Platinum, or Gold level. All others will have their names engraved on a plaque to hang in the building as well.
We appreciate you and look forward to continuing a tradition of success serving Randolph Ro-Hawks!
